Dr. Nadia Carlsten is a technology leader with 20 years of experience developing Deeptech products. As VP of Product at SandboxAQ, a global company at the nexus of AI and Quantum, she is responsible for managing the company’s product portfolio across multiple business verticals, including cybersecurity, quantum sensing, AI, and simulation, serving industries ranging from finance, healthcare, aerospace, and defense.

Previously she was Head of Product at the AWS Center for Quantum Computing where she helped define the strategy for Amazon’s first Quantum Computing hardware and for the AWS Center for Quantum Networking. She helped launch Amazon Braket – AWS’s first quantum product – making quantum computers from multiple companies available in the cloud for the first time.

Throughout her career, Dr. Carlsten has been at the forefront of new technologies, spearheading the creation of groundbreaking products that have set new industry standards. Over the last decade, she has also directed strategic partnerships, collaborations, and investments with Fortune 500 companies, investment groups, R&D institutions, and government organizations in various roles as a product and technology leader. Notably, she led commercialization activities at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security where she successfully helped create several startups and brought new products to market in the areas of cybersecurity and machine learning.

A recognized authority in Quantum computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity, Dr. Carlsten has shared her insights and knowledge at technical and business conferences across the globe She serves on the Steering Committee of the Quantum Economic Development Consortium and advises on global technology policy.

Dr. Carlsten holds a PhD in engineering from UC Berkeley, a B.S in Chemistry, and B.A in Physics from the University of Virginia. She is also a graduate of the Management of Technology Program, and the Venture Capital Executive Program from the Haas Business School.
