Fernando Dominguez Pinuaga joins Sandbox@Alphabet from X, The Moonshot Factory, where he was a strategic business leader. Sandbox@Alphabet is an independent unit at Alphabet focusing on creating quantum-inspired physics and A.I. based tools and applications that can run on today’s classical computing platforms. Sandbox@Alphabet focuses on enterprise SaaS solutions at the intersection of machine learning and physics.
Fernando brings experience as a negotiator who understands how to create empathy with partners, lead teams, and propel projects from concept to launch in the most challenging environments. Fernando is also a driven innovator with a relentless passion for projects that make the world a better place. Equal part engineer and strategist with a master’s degree in energy economics from Paris he combined a parallel career as a professional rugby player in Europe where he played two World Cups with the Spanish Rugby National team.
Fernando’s education and career spans three continents and a variety of industries, including energy, aerospace, transportation and robotics, in both the private and public sectors. His multilingual communication (in five languages) and international experience allows him to adapt quickly to any business situation and find creative solutions to complex problems.
